HOTH Ranch Volunteer Mounted Search and Rescue

We have three teams that are part of our group. 

>MOUNTED TEAM: Our Mounted Team is the main source of our Team.  With trained members and horses alike we use are horsemanship and navigational skills to navigate through tough terrain.  

>GROUND TEAM: The ground team forms the backbone of Search and Rescue.  Everyone on the Search and Rescue team is first and foremost a ground-pounder, able to navigate their way through heavy brush, over rugged hills, swamps, creeks, and rivers to find a missing subject.  Ground Team members support specialty teams like K9 tracking, ATV, and other teams out on the searches.  When arriving on-scene, the Ground Team is responsible for assessing the terrain and determining specific search tactics(if our local sheriff's dept is not involved).  If our sheriff's dept is on-scene we wait for their guidance and instructions.  Our Ground Team are on the constant lookout for clues, relying on their senses and their own two feet to get them where they need to go. 

>ATV TEAM:  The ATV Team is equipped with their own ATV's.  Members use the power of their machines to quickly contain a search area or to locate any missing subjects.  They transport gear, medical supplies, and fellow searchers into or out of the field.
